Watch Elvis Presley’s ’68 Comeback Special Tribute at The Emmy Awards

                                      September 27, 2011

Held on September 10 at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, this year’s Emmy awards gave a special nod to Elvis' 1968 television special.

Priscilla Presley along with Steve Binder, Emmy Award-winning producer and director of "Elvis '68 Comeback Special," introduced one of the classic scenes from the special that helped re-launch the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll’s career and changed the way entertainment specials looked on television forever.

The two also presented four statues during the Primetime Creative Arts Emmy® Awards.

                                      $120 million's a bit steep
Mon, 26/09/2011 - 10:13 by John Hill The pictures above are from the premiere of Iris, the new Cirque Du Soleil production at the Kodak Theatre in LA. It's supposedly a look at the history of cinema via the medium of dance, which everyone knows is the best way to learn anything fact-based. It's how most doctors learn about neurosurgery in fact.

Anyway, here's who went: Christina Hendricks, Geoffrey Arend, James Gandolfini, Aaron Paul, Anne Heche, Chloe Moretz, Camila Alves, Christina Milian, Annalynne McCord, James Cameron, Patrick Dempsey, Kevin Dillon, Kate Beckinsale, Vanessa Hudgens, Priscilla Presley, Kristin Bauer, Matthew McConaughey and Cindy Crawford.

Also, Christina Hendricks seems to have come out of her shoes. Exciting, eh? We're sure there's some of you out there who can do something with that picture.
Finally, according to Wikipedia the production costs for Iris are around $120m. Can anyone who knows about these things back that muber up, or have we just been lied to?

"Buddy Holly Day" Celebrated in Los Angeles and Worldwide in Honor of Historic 75th Birthday

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 8, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- On the actual anniversary of Buddy Holly's birth, September 7th, 2011, "Buddy Holly Day" was officially declared in Los Angeles with celebrations throughout the day. As part of the day's events, a Hollywood Walk of Fame star unveiling attended by Holly's widow, Maria Elena Holly and her family, Peter Asher, (executive producer of
Listen to Me: Buddy Holly), Phil Everly, Gary Busey, Albert Lee, and Ritchie Valens' family were among those in attendance. "I know Buddy is looking down and saying thanks to all of you," Maria Elena said.

Maria Elena Holly was even spotted joining in when a
flashmob crowd gathered in the street and rocked to the tune of Stevie Nicks belting out "Not Fade Away" before the ceremony. In addition to international tv crews, Holly's hometown station KCBD from Lubbock, Texas streamed the show live for a crowd of fans at the Buddy Holly Center in honor of their hometown hero.

At a private reception after the ceremony, Gary Busey performed for the crowd as friends, family and fans shared memories.

The night began with a vocal tribute from Brian Wilson and his band singing Happy Birthday to Buddy, followed by a champagne toast.
