Creative Arts Emmys Announces More Presenters Goggins, Colfer and Romijn join previously announced presenters

The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences announced Monday some more presenters for the 2011 Primetime Creative Arts Emmys.
Newly announced presenters include Walton Goggins & Graham Yost (Justified), Chris Colfer & Brad Falchuk (Glee), Rebecca Romijn & Paul Scheer (NTSF:SD:SUV), Priscilla Presley & Steve Binder (Elvis' '68 Comeback Special), H. Jon Benjamin & Adam Reed (Archer) and Paul "Pee-Wee Herman" Reubens (The Pee-Wee Herman Show on Broadway).
The first batch of presenters for the Creative Arts Emmys was announced Aug. 24.

London, Aug 20 Late singer Elis Presley's grand-daughter Riley Keough has reportedly bagged the leading lady's role in Steven Soderbergh's “Magic Mike” -- a film about male strippers.
Contactmusic.com reports that earlier this week it was announced that Matthew McConaughey will play a stripper-turned-club owner in the film, which is inspired by actor Channing Tatum's experiences as a Florida stripper before his acting career took off.
Tatum will play the lead role in the movie, which also stars Jessica Biel and “True Blood” actor Joe Manganiello.

My father always said he had the best fans in the world, and he was right. The fact that you are here to celebrate his life 34 years after his passing is a testament to that.
I hope you've enjoyed our new exhibits at Graceland and I look forward to being involved personally with a very special exhibit called "Elvis Through His Daughter's Eyes" opening in the Spring of next year.
Before we know it, it will be Elvis Week 2012, which as you all know as the 35th anniversary will be special time. I look forward to being there with you, my mother and entire family.

Priscilla Presley ‘excited’ about Cirque du Soleil’s changes to ‘Viva Elvis’

“I am excited that Cirque Du Soleil has decided to modify ‘Viva Elvis” is how Priscilla Presley put it last week. “It will make a good show an even more exciting show.”
Priscilla supplied her opinion through spokeswoman and Rogers & Cowan PR executive Samantha Mast.
Last week, the production announced that it was making significant changes in the show. The news release read, in part, that the company would present “less of a biographical representation of Elvis and more of an acrobatic Cirque du Soleil spectacular production.”
Noting its decision to close its production show “Zed” in Tokyo (citing the natural disasters that have hit Japan as the reason), Cirque is updating “Viva Elvis” with more traditional acrobatic acts that were featured in that show. (Read my colleague Robin Leach’s column about the “Viva Elvis” changes here).
If anything can be taken from Presley’s comment, it’s that the changes to the show are in the hands of Cirque. As a representative of Elvis Presley Enterprises, which has partnered with Cirque to produce “Viva Elvis,” Presley has long been a proponent of the largely biographical approach to the production. In January, on the event of her being honored as Woman of the Year by Nevada Ballet Theatre, Presley said changes to the show were being discussed, but it was apparent those talks were centered on bringing more of Elvis' life story to the show, not less.
"We’re trying to get more Elvis, even though it’s a Cirque celebration of his life, some of the song choices and being tighter, a couple of the acts will be a little bit different," she said at the time. "It’s the same show, but oh my God, it’s got so much life and energy, and Elvis is more in it, and everyone agrees that’s what it needed.
"It’s about Elvis, we all know all of his songs, and we can hear the songs, but we need to know why everyone was so enthralled by him and captivated by him. And that’s all happening, and that’s good." Presley said she specifically preferred more gospel songs in the performance, as Elvis loved gospel music.
In its earliest stages, the show has told the story of Elvis through variations of his classic songs and a narrative by a Col. Tom Parker-styled character. To enact the changes, the show will shut down for an extended period beginning in January, with the revised version expected to roll out by the spring.

The story of Elvis and Priscilla Presley is full of sufficient joys and heartaches to generate an fascinating and fascinating hit television series for years to come even to this day! Indeed, there have been Elvis and Priscilla movies in the past, and they’ve done rather well; so what makes their lives so interesting?
It obviously starts with the most sensual male rock and roll star ever to grace a stage, a beautiful princess-like young woman whose attractiveness was honestly something to behold, and ends in a fairytale gone sour with a not-so-happily ever after ending.
Elvis met Priscilla Beaulieu while stationed in Germany in 1959, when she was 14 1/2 and he was 24. Talk about age difference! Things were a wee different and more flexible back then when it came to age differences in the dating world; if this were to happen in today’s community it would seriously be questioned, investigated, and charges would probably be filed!
Warner Hotels But the extraordinary story of Elvis and Priscilla Presley was beginning to unfold; soon Elvis and Priscilla would spend time together every occasion they got. Although Priscilla’s father objected to the romance at first, her mum talked him into allowing her to see Elvis, and he agreed on one condition; a midnight curfew!
Elvis and Priscilla would commonly double-date and hang out with Elvis’ friends, and they pretty much kept their association “under wraps,” away from the public. When Elvis left Germany in 1960, Priscilla came to terms with the fact that her association with Elvis might be over, but to her surprise, Elvis stayed in touch with her.
When Priscilla was seventeen years old, Elvis talked her parents into allowing her to live with his father, Vernon Presley, and his stepmother in their Memphis, Tn home behind Graceland. As the story of Elvis and Priscilla Presley goes, Elvis persuaded her to come over and stay with him commonly until she finally moved in for good!
In 1966, after seven years of courting, Elvis Presley proposed marriage to Priscilla Beaulieu with a 3 1/2 carat solitaire to pledge his love! They were finally married on May 1, 1967, at a very inexpressive ceremony in Las Vegas. It is said that Elvis had always told Priscilla they were to abstain from intercourse until the day they were married even though they were very attracted to each other and fascinating in lesser activity. This was probably true; exactly nine months after their wedding date, their daughter Lisa Marie Presley was born!
Elvis Priscilla seemed so happy at the time and those closest to Elvis say he was crazy about his wee daughter, Lisa Marie. But by 1971, Elvis’ superstar lifestyle had taken its toll on the maturing Priscilla, and she was growing tired of many aspects of it, along with his’ alleged affairs with other women. Priscilla fell in love with her karate instructor, Mike Stone, and saw her association with Stone as an escape from the life she no longer desired.
On October 9, 1973, the story of Elvis and Priscilla Presley came to an amicable end when their disjunction was made final. Elvis and Priscilla shared custody of Lisa Marie, and they remained friends until his abrupt death in 1977.

Major changes are being made to Cirque du Soleil’s ‘Viva Elvis’ at Aria

In a shocking and surprise move, Cirque du Soleil officials confirmed this afternoon that major changes will be made to Viva Elvis at Aria, and if the gamble doesn’t work, then the spectacular will shut down within two years.
Expect to see the biographic nature of the Elvis Presley story to be drastically cut and changed into a more traditional Cirque acrobatic production, with its amazing artists from the Japanese production Zed being brought in at year’s end and more rock ’n’ roll being added as music components.
Here’s the official Cirque statement:
“Cirque du Soleil and MGM Resorts International have always had an active and open relationship about their projects. As for all Cirque du Soleil productions, we constantly review all aspects of our shows, including the creative positioning and the business results. These discussions have been ongoing for Viva Elvis, and we have decided to modify the show to make it less of a biographical representation of Elvis and more of an acrobatic Cirque du Soleil spectacular production.
“As a result of the recent tragedies in Japan, Cirque du Soleil has had to make a difficult decision to close its permanent show Zed by the end of this year. But in making that difficult decision, an opportunity presented itself to enhance Viva Elvis. Zed features some of the most impressive acrobatic acts ever presented onstage, and we truly wish to continue bringing these performances to our audience. In the last weeks, we have reviewed the possibilities and have decided to fully integrate these beautiful acts in Viva Elvis and to present them to the millions of people who visit Las Vegas annually.
“Cirque du Soleil is a creative-driven organization and wants to ensure that this integration is done well and fully respects its artistic objectives. To do this, the partners have agreed that Viva Elvis will take extended dark dates beginning in January 2012. This integration is expected to be completed by the end of the first quarter. We will also take this time to review all marketing strategies to reposition Viva Elvis. We are sure that like us, you will be excited to re-discover Viva Elvis.

A-list stars Juliette Lewis and John Travolta attended the Hollywood party, happily posing for photographs as if it was an ordinary red carpet event.

Scientology Gathers Celebrities—To Raise Funds for Church?

Celebrities gathered at the Scientology Celebrity Centre on Saturday to celebrate the 42nd anniversary of the controversial church. Was this an effort to raise money for the church or simply a gathering of the church's elite?
According to RadarOnline, the church has been targeted recently for a variety of unsavory reasons, which church leaders say aren't true. A recent book that divulges many of their supposed secrets is deemed to be "full of inaccuracies."
So what's the deal with all these celebrities and Scientology? Everyone knows that John Travolta and Kelly Preston are members. Tom Cruise and his wife Katie Holmes are, too—although they were conspicuously absent from Saturday's event. That probably has something to do with the fact that Cruise has been named in some of the most recent controversy.
The Scientology Celebrity Centre was filled to the brim with wealthy celebrities Saturday, including Jenna and Bodhi Elfman, Anne Archer, Jason Lee, Priscilla Presley, Erika Christensen, and Juliette Lewis—to name just a few.
What do you suppose is behind this "celebrity centre," and is it designed to bring money into the Church of Scientology? Have you ever heard of any other religion touting a celebrity centre?

Scientology Celebrity Centre Calls Out The Stars For Anniversary Party

The Scientology Celebrity Centre celebrated its 42nd anniversary Saturday night with a black tie bash that brought out many of the controversial religion's most famous members.
Married actors John Travolta and Kelly Preston and Jenna Elfman and Bodhi Elfman were there. We also spotted Priscilla Presley and actress Anne Archer whose son is one of Scientology's top-ranking officials, plus Jason Lee, Erika Christensen and Juliette Lewis.

Scientology has been coming under intense fire in recent months, with highly negative articles in Village Voice and Rolling Stone, and a new book, Inside Scientology: The Story of America's Most Secretive Religion, by Rolling Stone reporter Janet Reitman.
Scientology has been fighting back, and saying that the book in particular is "filled with inaccuracies."
Tom Cruise, often called the "face of Scientology" has stayed quiet on the war of words, and wasn't seen at the event.
